'The Capes' Marine Reserves.

The Australian Anglers Association is closely following the planning process for the proposed Capes Marine Reserves, covering from Geographe Bay south east of Cape Naturaliste to east of Cape Leeuwin and the Cape to Cape areas in between.

The Western Australian Department of Conservation and Land Management (CALM) is running this planning process, with a Capes Advisory Committee to have several meeting to prepare a proposal for presentation to the public for public comments and submissions.

The Australian Anglers Association is coordinating comments from Perth based fishing clubs as one of the "Sector Reference Groups"

The CALM web site page 'The Capes' Marine Conservation Reserve proposal has details of the Advisory Committee, the Sector Reference Groups, etc, and has information from the Advisory Committee meetings.

The Australian Anglers Association, using comments received from members and some other people, has sent it's Comments on the first meeting of the Capes Advisory Committee from Perth based Fishing Clubs Sector Reference Group.

We have considered the minutes and outputs from the second Committee meeting, and have prepared Comments on the second meeting of the Capes Advisory Committee.

We have considered the minutes and proposed no take zones from the fifth Committee meeting, and have prepared Comments on the fifth meeting and proposed no take zones by the Capes Advisory Committee.
