Estuary Fishing

The Australian Anglers Association runs a State Estuary Fishing Championship competition for club anglers each year.

These events are run under the Competition Rules for State Rock & Beach and Estuary Events (102 kilobyte PDF file). This version was adopted at the April 2005 Delegates' Meeting and amended at the August 2005 Delegates' meeting.

The eligible species for these events are in either the List of Eligible Species for West Coast (26 kilobyte PDF file) or the List of Eligible Species for South Coast (26 kilobyte PDF file).

2009/2010 State Estuary Championships

This event was held in the Swan and Canning Rivers, 28 and 29 November 2009.

2005/2006 State Estuary Championships

Location : Peel Inlet
Headquarters : Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club
Hosted by : Rock & Beach and Estuary Subcommittee
Date : Saturday and Sunday 26/27 November 2005
Boundaries : All waters inside the Peel and Harvey Inlets and the Serpentine and Murray Rivers from a line drawn across the groynes at the Dawesville Cut and at the old estuary entrance.

The 2004/5 State Estuary Championships were held in the Swan and Canning Rivers on 27/28 November, 2004, for members of clubs affiliated with the AAA.

The 2003/4 State Estuary Championships were held at Bunbury in the Leschenault Inlet and the Collie and Preston Rivers on 17/18 April 2004 (not the usual last weekend in month due to Anzac Day.), for members of clubs affiliated with the AAA.

The 2002/3 State Estuary Championships were held in the Swan and Canning Rivers on 23rd/24th November, 2002, for members of clubs affiliated with the AAA.
