Estuary Fishing
The Australian Anglers Association runs a State Estuary Fishing Championship competition for club anglers each year.
These events are run under the Competition Rules for State Rock & Beach and Estuary Events This version was adopted at the April 2005 Delegates' Meeting and amended at the August 2005 and July 2011 Delegates' meetings. The eligible species are in the List of Eligible Species

2013/2014 State Estuary Championships
This event will be held in the Swan and Canning Rivers on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November 2013. Boundaries Swan and Canning Rivers, upstream of traffic bridge at Fremantle. Briefing 11am, lines down 1pm, Saturday. Weigh in 11am Sunday.

2012/2013 State Estuary Championships
This event was held in Cockburn Sound and Swan/Canning Rivers on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 November 2012. Boundary: Cockburn Sound, Garden Island Causeway to a line between the northern end of Carnac Island and Woodman point (as printed in the West Coast Recreational Rules Brochure), Swan and Canning Rivers down to the Fremantle Traffic Bridge.

The Association has prepared Marine Parks and fishing restrictions in Western Australia - a reference list of internet links about Marine Parks and areas where fishing is restricted in Western Australia, as a service from the Australian Anglers Association to help recreational fishermen and others to locate the latest information.

2011/2012 State Estuary Championships
This event was held at Walpole on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November 2011. Boundary: Walpole/Nornalup Estuary and inflowing rivers down to the inside of the sandbar at the mouth, a line drawn across the mouth, an extension of the inside of the bar.

2010/2011 State Estuary Championships
This event was held in the Swan and Canning Rivers up-stream of the Fremantle Traffic Bridge and Cockburn Sound, line from tip of South Mole to Garden Island, to Garden Island causeway, on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November 2010.
