Australian Anglers Association, (WA Division) Inc.
Lancelin Angling and Aquatic Club AAA Delegate's Report, 18 February 2002.
AAA State Boat Championships
We need a number of Volunteers to assist on the day, also we need you to fish at Ocean Reef to get an idea what is required for our event to be run in 2003.
I hope to see you all there! Lets get a team together!
If you could contact me I will have an offsider (Mal Wauchope may offer his services!) to organize a team from LAAC, and possible a shirt with our logo on, can't promise anything but lets give it a go.
AAA Web Page
May I suggest those of you with access to the internet have a look at a web page that the AAA has been getting together, there are a few pages in there regarding Lancelin, I have been learning a bit about the page setup so watch out who knows what will happen. http://www.aaawa.iinet.net.au/
Fishing Comps
We now have three comps under our belts (about time), so Mal our Rear Commodore/Field Day Officer has some details re what position those that have fished, are on the ladder, look forward to this.
Hopefully it will encourage a little bit of rivalry!
Thanks also to Russell Williams (Ausform) for his kind donation as indicated by Mal Cobb re the incentive for all to weigh in.
Club Records
I have done a booklet up with all the records that we have documentation for, please feel free to have a look at it and make comment, there are some still not there and if you have a record but not mentioned please see me and I will try to (with your help) find and verify the details, over the time some records and other items have been misplaced so if you have any idea, please help me get them and get it right for all to see, surprisingly some of the club records are state records, but were not applied for.
Club Constitution
After the confusion at the last AGM re some changes, we have cleaned up the booklet (crumbs talk about time consuming), with some help from members, thanks to those who helped me in that respect. Mal Cobb is now going over it to confirm all is correct.
We will be at the AGM or before if possible, enclose in the newsletter some proposed changes to the constitution which really is just typo mistakes and some rewording to bring it up to scratch and also into laypersons wording.
Some will be the inclusion of Committee position duty descriptions and item number changes. See me and I have a copy of the one we are working on, if you have any other suggestions.
Did you know?
There are 12 positions on the committee and there are only 8 positions now filled (after a lot of sweet talking by some), this means that once again all the work is left to just a few, any offers? I know only too well how difficult it has been with the few workers trying to get things done.
One valued member asked some pertinent questions on the weekend and hey! Guess what? The committee addressed the issue straight away and will possibly have the issue resolved after the next meeting.
If you have any comments or feedback like some have done, please see me, and I will address to the relevant positions, hey! I know only too well how difficult it is sometimes to speak your mind and not offend (mate I've got the hide of a rhino).
Cheers and Tight Lines. Pat Shinnick LAAC AAA Delegate and Chairman of the AAA Boating Sub Committee.
