Rock and Beach Fishing




The Australian Anglers Association runs a State Rock and Beach Fishing Championship competition for club anglers each year.

The 2008/9 Rock and Beach Championships were held on Saturday 27 September 2008 and Sunday 28 September 2008

The 2007/8 Rock and Beach Championships were held on Saturday 29 September 2007 and Sunday 30 September 2007, with headquarters at Port Gregory. Boundaries Port Gregory to Kalbarri.

The 2006/7 Rock and Beach Championships were held with headquarters at Cheynes Beach, on 3 and 4 March, 2007.

The 2005/6 Rock and Beach Championships were held from the southern jetty at Cervantes to northern point of Desperate Bay, Jurien Bay area, on 25 and 26 March, 2006 .

The 2004/5 Rock and Beach Championships were held Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin areas on 28 and 29 May 2005.

The 2003/4 Rock and Beach Championships were held Port Gregory on 27 and 28 September 2003.

The 2003 Rock and Beach Championships were held Myalup to Halls Head on 29 and 30 March 2003.

The 2003 Mandurah 500 was run on the 11 and 12 January 2003.

The 2002 Rock and Beach Championships were held at Jurien Bay on Saturday and Sunday 16/17 March 2002.

The 2000/2001 Rock and Beach Championships were held Cape to Cape. (16 kilobyte PDF file.)

These events are run under the Competition Rules for State Rock & Beach and Estuary Events (102 kilobyte PDF file). This version was adopted at the April 2005 Delegates' Meeting and amended at the August 2005 Delegates' meeting.

The eligible species for these events are in the List of Eligible Species for West Coast (26 kilobyte PDF file) updated January 2006 with new rules for the West Coast Region as set by WA Department of Fisheries, and List of Eligible Species for South Coast (26 kilobyte PDF file).
